The world of fulldome is constantly evolving, but it can also be filled with technical language and niche terminology that can feel overwhelming, especially for those new to the space. To help make this immersive medium more accessible, we set out to create a comprehensive A–Z guide to fulldome.
This guide is designed to break down the jargon, clarify key concepts, and provide a shared language for artists, producers, technologists and audiences alike.

To develop the guide, we collaborated with a network of dome professionals across the globe, including contributors from Kiev, Montreal, São Paulo, Denver, and Fort Collins. Their insights and experience have helped shape a resource that reflects the diversity and depth of the fulldome community. We’re grateful to everyone who contributed their knowledge to this project.
Importantly, this A–Z is not a finished product. Fulldome continues to grow and change, and this guide is intended to evolve alongside it. We plan to expand and refine the content over time, incorporating new terminology, emerging practices, and community feedback.
Looking ahead, we’re also exploring ways to bring this guide to life in new formats, including the potential to develop it into a fulldome film experience.
If you have suggestions, terms we should include or perspectives to share, we’d love to hear from you. This is a collaborative resource, and we welcome contributions from across the community as we continue to build and improve it together.
