We have been collaborating with DJ Yoda to turn his live performances into an immersive experience.
We have used real-time software to embed traditional 16:9 video content, such as music videos and archival clips, into fully immersive 360º environments. We also included live camera feeds and designed 360º loops. Rather than reformatting existing media, our approach places original footage within a custom-built virtual world, allowing it to retain its integrity while becoming part of a larger visual narrative.
This meant that DJ Yoda could seamlessly mix and manipulate music video clips live, pulling from sources like YouTube and transforming them into a wraparound dome experience. The visuals respond dynamically to his signature How To Cut & Paste: 80s Edition style, creating a fast-paced, nostalgic journey through retro anthems.
DJ Yoda, a multi-award-winning hip-hop DJ and producer, is known for pushing the boundaries of live performance through inventive collaborations across disciplines, from music and film to science and art. This project continues that ethos, bringing his audiovisual storytelling into the immersive space.
By combining innovative dome techniques with live performance, we have created a new kind of club experience, one that moves beyond the flat screen and into a fully immersive world.
