Overview
For Food Matters Live and National Geographic Food Show, we were tasked with creating an immersive dining experience on behalf of Food Innovation Wales and the Welsh Assembly Government. The objective was to increase food buyers’ interest in Welsh produce at national food and drink exhibitions, while showcasing the breadth, quality and stories behind Welsh food producers.
Our 6m dome provided a striking, self-contained venue within the exhibition halls. The structure was installed quickly and configured internally to support a fully immersive sensory experience.
Visitors were taken on a curated journey of Welsh produce, designed to engage all five senses:
- Immersive projections and atmospheric lighting
- Spatial audio soundscape
- Guided tasting experience
- Aromatic elements tied to the produce
- Physical interaction with ingredients and materials
Each session lasted approximately 30 minutes, allowing groups of food buyers and international visitors to experience the narrative in an intimate, controlled environment.
The immersive dining experiences received outstanding feedback from buyers, producers and organisers. The dome created a memorable platform to showcase Welsh food, helping visitors connect emotionally with the produce and its origins.
