Overview

Immersive experience designed specifically for a 360° dome environment.

Black Mantis is the solo project of South Wales based producer Deri Roberts, best known as one-third of the band Slowly Rolling Camera. With Black Mantis, Roberts explores a darker electronic sound, blending sound sculpture, electronica and jazz into an evolving sonic world shaped by his background in TV and film composition.

Our visuals were developed to complement this cinematic quality. The piece features evolving abstract environments built from organic forms, shifting textures, and layered light patterns that move fluidly across the dome. The visual narrative responds to the rhythm, mood and atmosphere of the music, creating a deeply immersive experience that blurs the boundary between sound and image.

Originally presented as a live audiovisual performance, the content is designed for fulldome environments and can be licensed for immersive venues, digital planetariums, and dome-based cultural spaces seeking contemporary audiovisual programming.
